Beacon Lighting Group is looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance Team! THE ROLE Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to support the Accounts Receivable processes and systems by ensuring payments are received in a timely manner, accurately recorded and discrepancies resolved. Previous experience within a high-volume retail environment would be highly regarded. Key responsibilities include: - Own and manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable ledger, ensuring accurate records, timely collections and adherence to payment terms
- Process and allocate customer payments, invoices, credit notes and journals accurately and efficiently
- Monitor overdue receivables and liaise with internal and external customers to resolve account queries and payment issues
- Perform customer account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate debtor records
- Create and maintain new customer accounts, including debtor master files and credit checks, in line with company policies and controls
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including statements, reporting, write-offs, audits and financial reconciliations
ABOUT YOU To be successful, you will have: - Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Previous experience in Great Plains or Similar ERP systems will be highly regarded
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel e.g. Vlookup and Pivot Tables
- Strong numerical skills
- Highly organised, good time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven skills using your initiative and being proactive
- Well-rounded skills working effectively within a team, whilst being able to work independently when required
