Reporting to the Head of Engineering (Australia), this role combines product engineering, compliance management, and project coordination to support the successful development and launch of Beacon Lighting products across international markets. You will act as the key link between suppliers, testing laboratories, and internal teams to ensure all products meet required safety, regulatory, and quality standards—while staying on track for launch deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and highly organized engineering professional who enjoys balancing hands-on compliance execution with cross-functional project collaboration. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Manage product compliance timelines, ensuring all testing, certifications, and approvals are completed in line with product launch schedules and key project milestones are met
- Act as the central point of contact for compliance updates, coordinating effectively with design, supply chain, suppliers, and leadership teams
- Identify and interpret global regulatory requirements across target markets, conducting early-stage risk assessments and providing engineering guidance to support compliant product design
- Coordinate third-party product testing and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including test reports and Declarations of Conformity, ensuring all records are audit-ready
- Verify supplier materials and components comply with relevant environmental and restricted substance regulations, including RoHS and REACH
- Review and approve product packaging, safety warnings, labels, and certification marks (including CE, FCC, and market-specific requirements), while maintaining full product traceability
- Monitor regulatory changes and post-launch product performance, analysing customer safety concerns or defects and supporting corrective actions, product improvements, or recall processes where required
About You To shine in this role, you will bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in product compliance, product engineering, quality assurance, or regulatory-focused roles
- Strong understanding of international product compliance standards and certification processes
- Experience working with third-party testing laboratories and technical documentation management
- Familiarity with compliance management systems, PLM platforms, Microsoft Teams, and detailed spreadsheet tracking
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical requirements to suppliers and internal stakeholders
- High attention to detail, accountability, and a proactive problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work effectively within Beacon Lighting’s policies, procedures, and behavioral expectations
