The Role Supporting the Head of Engineering (Product Development), the Product Compliance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all products and relevant documents meet Australian regulatory and compliance requirements. The role will also assist the Product Development team to arrange appropriate testing, be it electrical safety testing, in-house testing and third-party laboratory testing, for compliance, performance and safety purposes. Key responsibilities will include: - Ensure Beacon Lighting products comply with required Australian regulatory and product safety requirements through product testing and certification programs
- Liaising with international and local testing laboratories to organize and oversee third party testing
- Preparations of new product approval certification and registration submissions & renewing existing certifications and registrations
- Reviewing new product for creations of product labels and safe use instructions as required by the standards
- Conducting in-house testing and coordinating third party testing on products to ensure performance and safety requirements are met
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of in-house electrical safety testing systems
About You To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: - A strong background in electrical product testing coupled with qualifications in electrical engineering
- Previous experience working with electrical household and lighting equipment for product labelling and instruction manual for safe use
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Effective organizational skills, with the ability to manage your time effectively and ensure deadlines are always adhered to
- Proven problem-solving skills, investigating issues and resolving them appropriately
- Analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret reports
- A high level of competency in all Microsoft Office packages
