THE ROLE We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manager – Beacon Lighting Installations to join our team, based at our Derrimut DC and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This role will be responsible for managing, growing and supporting our national team of electricians, as well as maintaining and improving divisional performance, ensuring the delivery of productivity targets and achievement of budgets.
Key responsibilities include: - Leading and motivating a national team of electricians to meet business targets and maintain high productivity.
- Coordinating inductions for new electricians, ensuring all required resources (vehicles, tools, IT equipment) are provided.
- Organizing training courses and maintaining records of completed training.
- Monitoring team performance and ensuring compliance with administrative procedures, safety audits, and protocols.
- Collaborating with Sales, Property, and Merchandising teams for efficient completion of fit-outs, catalogues, and refurbishments.
- Maintaining accurate schedules for electricians, including time off, training plans, and project timelines.
- Managing the SimPRO management system, entering data, and preparing reports (daily hours, P&L, productivity).
- Overseeing payroll activities, including timesheets, billing, and invoice reconciliation.
- Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, conducting regular stocktakes, and managing material ordering and inventory.
- Implementing safety programs and ensuring electricians are trained and consulted on safety matters.
- Developing and maintaining an operations manual with up-to-date procedures and policies.
- Handling customer escalations and resolving issues as needed.
- Assisting with purchasing, insurance claims, and maintaining necessary licensing and compliance documentation.
- Attending meetings, sending agendas, and minute-taking as required.
ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role you will have: - Previous experience in a senior administration/management role is essential
- Experience supervising a team or operating a small business would be advantageous, ideally experience working with a blue collar workforce
- Electrical / electrician experience or qualifications are not essential but highly regarded
- Business administration and/or bookkeeping qualifications are desirable.
- High level of competency in Microsoft office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint
