A DAY IN THE LIFE?

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will support the end-to-end payroll function by assisting with payroll processing, maintaining system accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and statutory requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide timely payroll support, accurate reporting, and a high level of service to employees and managers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support the operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the payroll system, including employee data management (new starters, transfers, promotions, and terminations

• Assist in processing the fortnightly payroll, ensuring accuracy of timesheets, leave applications, and resolving any discrepancies

• Maintain payroll records and documentation to ensure a compliant and auditable payroll process

• Contribute to month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reporting, reconciliations, and statutory obligations such as payroll tax and year-end reporting

• Support the preparation and processing of employee incentive payments in line with company policies

• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding payroll processes, including timesheets and leave approvals

• Manage payroll inbox queries and assist with system access (e.g. ADP and T2W), reporting, and general payroll administration

• Assist with ad hoc reporting, payroll projects, and administrative tasks to support the broader Payroll and HR function

Please note: This is a Part-Time position, working 3 days per week with Monday & Tuesday being core days. 

About You
To shine in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Payroll Officer position or similar (Retail experience, highly advantageous)

• Excellent numeric and organizational skills coupled with strong attention to details skills

• Sound knowledge of payroll work practices and procedures

• Able to read and understand payroll reports and information
• Intermediate Excel Skills including V
• Work in accordance to Beacon Lighting's policies and procedures and agreed performance and behavioral expectations
