A DAY IN THE LIFE?

 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role combines strategic financial leadership with the governance responsibilities of a Company Secretary. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organisation while leading a high-performing finance team.

Working closely with the CFO, Board of Directors and Business Manager, you will oversee financial operations, deliver insightful reporting to support decision-making, and ensure strong corporate governance and compliance across the business.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys both hands-on financial management and strategic business partnering.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support and maintain the integrity of the business’s core financial systems and associated platforms

  • Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely and reflects the true financial position of the business

  • Maintain the integrity of financial information across key systems including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliations, System Administration, Management Reporting and Smart Lists

  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s cash flow forecasting to support operational and strategic planning

  • Produce management reports on a timely basis, including the Daily Sales Report, Monthly Board Report and Monthly Financial Report

  • Oversee the preparation, processing and reconciliation of international and foreign currency payments

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business performance, internal control compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing finance team including Management Accountants, Credit Controllers and Accounts Payable/Receivable professionals

  • Ensure all government obligations, including Company Tax and BAS payments, are completed accurately and within required timeframes

  • Support corporate governance activities in your capacity as Company Secretary, working closely with the Board and executive leadership team

 

About You
To shine in this role, you will bring:

  • A recognized accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent)

  • Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role such as Financial Controller or Finance Manager

  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing finance teams

  • Strong financial reporting, compliance and internal controls expertise

  • Experience preparing board-level reporting and financial insights to support business performance

  • Sound knowledge of Australian tax and regulatory requirements including BAS and company tax obligations

  • Experience managing cash flow forecasting and financial planning processes

  • A high level of attention to detail, integrity and professionalism, and are confident working closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
